Focus Attention on Annie Duke

Annie Duke mightn’t have came away with her first WSOP Bracelet until 2004 but she is one of the most powerful poker players around the ring games at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-awaited WSOP bracelet came with a win at the "forgotten game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run amok after a big win at the tables, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her 4 kids. She hails from NH and was raised into a family of card players. If you do not believe that, check out her sibling, Howard Lederer, when he plays, who taught Annie how-to compete in the game.

However, Annie Duke is not a small change girl and has earned her cut of difficult matches, including knocking out Howard along the way on several occasions.

Winning over 3 million dollars in tournament action, Annie branched out to become a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to sharpen his techniques to become a power player at the poker table.

You may observe Annie at the Bellagio, you will catch her on television and you might even compete against her in a web poker game, but don’t expect an easy win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you will not defeat her. However, it is likely to be fun to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
