Pai Gow Poker is a current game with ancient origins. Built on the old Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the western in a fantastic game for new gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player vs. the house, not like most other poker games that players wager with other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginning players do not have to worry about other, more knowledgeable players winning their money.
An additional Pai Gow advantage is the relatively leisurely game pace, novices can take their time and plan while not having to make frenzied selections.
It’s also much simpler to gamble on for a long time with basically a tiny bit of money since, to lose, each of your hands must be under each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The player is dealt 7 cards face up and the casino is dealt 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand must be made from the seven cards, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
