NL Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?
Howard Lederer lived in a family of 5 in which he liked taking part in different card games when he was young. He found himself becoming very competitive in the above-mentioned card games while competing against his father. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to put college on hold for a little while and headed to New York City to compete in some formidable chess. While competing in chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were difficult as he played many hours and lost most times. He made some extra money by being an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he possibly could better his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to get more rest and concentrate even more on poker.
The real advancement in his abilities began when he began betting at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable players would frequently challenge one another. He was able to access some of the greatest players in chess. With their help, Howard would tweak his logical thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic ideas to the game of NL Texas Holdem.
Howard Lederer also helped his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. Annie was a great student of poker as she would consistently be asking questions about the right way to make the correct choice. Howard Lederer told Annie Duke to head out to Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie is one of the greatest female players the poker world ever. He headed to Sin City in 1993 and participated in money games for the next decade. When the WPT gained popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
