No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover anything he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his goal of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors on the planet.

He started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his skills at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP where he achieved two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed many of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an immeasurable love for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is quite abashed about his success. He admits to making errors in each session of poker and always aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying cash games on a normal basis.
