NL Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 where he enjoyed playing various card games when he was young. He found himself getting really competitive in the above-mentioned card games while playing his father. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to put higher education on hold for a little bit and moved away to New York to compete in some formidable chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were rough as he would play many hours and lost a majority of the time. He made some extra money by becoming an assistant for the poker players. He theorized he might improve his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to acquire more sleep and focus even more on poker.

The definite advancement in his game began when he started wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the the most favorable players would often challenge one another. Howard had access into some of the foremost players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would hone his strategic thinking techniques. He used these strategic concepts in the game of No-Limit hold’em.

Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke learn poker. She was a great student of the game as she constantly asked questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie Duke to move out to Vegas and compete in the WSOP tournaments. She is one of the greatest female players the poker world ever. Howard moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and competed in money games for the successive decade. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
